Consider suggesting how the ball might be used for example, rolling, squashing, shaking, rattling, listening etc. Elicit other suggestions from the child (verbal and non-verbal) and follow their lead.<\/li><li>Where appropriate, consider using the ball to support the child to engage in co- operative play. The adult might begin by rolling or handing the ball to the child and encouraging the child to pass it back in their own way.
